I sincerely hope that 'Dutch oven' means something completely different on your side of the pond
Depends on what side of the Atlantic *you're* on, Cynically Yours (British, I assume). Hard to tell from your message. Here in the States, it usually refers to an actual oven. Is this a word like "fanny" or "randy" that one wouldn't like to say willy-nilly in Britain (or "rubber" or "knock-up" here in the States)?
My Two Cents
"Dutch Oven" means a large casserole dish here in the United States as well, at least in my experience. A "Dutch Oven Dinner" means, to me, a pot-luck, i.e., a dinner where the guests bring a dish to share.
"Dutch" applied to an object means, generally, "inexpensive, frugal", or, less charitably, "cheap". I presume the Dutch were, at one time, known for their frugality. Funny, I'm sure it is an expression from the British Isles.
Are you guys actually discussing Dutch ovens? Don't you people realize that there are IBWOs to be found! Get out there.
