Today's links

1. An excerpt from this article:
“Rich Guthrie was a volunteer on the ivory bill search, but as far as verifying his sighting, we can’t,” said Constance Bruce, of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
2. More from Martin Collinson here and here.

Do a search for "bicycle" in this blog for more information on Collinson's sounds.

This has been one of the big errors in the controversy all along: people not considering alternate explanations, including considering that there are probably alternate explanations that no one has even thought of yet.

If you have a video of an Ivory-bill giving kent calls and double knocks, you've got something. If you have recordings of kent-like calls or "double knocks" alone you've got nothing.

"I wasn’t a jump up and down birdwatcher celebrating a tick on the life list"

More disrespect of birders by another pseudoscientific copycat wannabe. Real birders wouldn't be at all embarrassed to celebrate ticking an IBWO if that species weren't long extinct.

The CLO is only in the business of verifying their own lousy sightings.

Thank you very much.
