Emissions forum not hot air: Liberals | theage.com.au
A SUBURBAN Liberal Party branch has been attacked for holding a climate science forum that will hear only one, unfashionable point of view: that climate change has nothing to do with skyrocketing greenhouse emissions.

The forum, held by the party's Kew branch this Wednesday, will be addressed by William Kininmonth, a former head of the National Climate Centre, who believes climate change is a natural hazard.

But forum organiser Christopher Game warned he would not allow political arguments at the forum, only discussion about science. He said he convened the forum because he thought the Liberal Party was "totally out of its mind" on climate policy.

"I've come across many scientific frauds in the past and this is just another one," Dr Game said.

Mr Kininmonth said the science of climate change was not settled. "I wonder why (the Labor Party) don't want the opposing view to be put in the public domain. If the arguments were so strong, they would have no concern about them being put forward," he said.
