Australia - Climate change and the Murray Darling Basin; Lower Lakes; Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme
JONES: He's saying that it is the results of the mismanagement of the river, but the inflows are part of a 100 year drought or the worst drought in 100 years lets put it that way, not climate change, and he's effectively saying there's no way of proving that. Is there a way of proving a direct link?
WONG: Look, two things on that, Tony. As the Government, we look at what the scientists are telling us. This is just the same again from the Liberal Opposition, for 12 years arguing about the issue of climate change, in fact still arguing about it, still with a lot of sceptics in their own party room.
We need to get on with it. I think most Australians do have a view that climate change is occurring.
We need to get over arguing about the science, because the science is very clear. And we need to get on with acting when it comes to both water and climate change, which are really two sides of the same coin.
