Experts to Debate Climate Change
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 28, 2008) – Two internationally recognized experts on climate will present their differing views on whether human activity affects the average worldwide temperature at a forum at the University of Kentucky on Monday, Nov. 10.The controversial, faithful new head of Friends of the Earth
R. Timothy Patterson, a geology professor at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, and Kurt M. Cuffey of the University of California at Berkeley will discuss these issues at “Climate Change – Manmade Catastrophe or Natural Cycle” at 6:30 p.m. that day at UK’s Memorial Hall.
On climate change, [new top man at Friends of the Earth (FOE), Andy Atkins] said: “The argument on the science has been won by us and others. However, we have yet to see the argument over action that’s needed. It requires a compete shift in thinking by governments. They need to move very fast and very hard.”
