Italy cautions EU on climate legislation
Earlier, another member of the Italian government , the Innovation Minister Renato Brunetta described the EU's green vision as an “act of madness”. The 27-nation EU pledged last year to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 20 per cent compared to 2005 levels by the end of the next decade. Italy claims that the commitment would cost its economy some €25 billion per year, which is twice as compared to the commission estimates.
