Tom Friedman suggests that climate realist Bob Lutz is "brain-dead"

Postbulletin.com: Rochester, MN
...The result was an industry that became brain-dead.

Nothing typified this more than statements like those of Bob Lutz, GM's vice chairman. He has been quoted as saying that hybrids like the Toyota Prius "make no economic sense." And, in February, D Magazine of Dallas quoted him as saying that global warming "is a total crock of (expletive)."

Good to see that at least one executive at GM gets it. What do you think the Democrats are pushing money at the auto industry for? Obvious answer -- So we can all drive roller skates.

Meanwhile, the politburo will ride high in Suburbans.

I have a friend who had the unfortunate circumstance to be driving one of those roller skates with his wife, when a 2 ton car going about 45 MPH(closing speed 2X) with no warning crossed the divide and head on crashed into them. They both survived, their car was a newer model with all the proper safety gear. Neither is right to this day, near four years later and just short of $500,000 in combined medical bills. Their legs, back and hips took the worst of it.

I will not ride in a roller skate ever.

There is more to life than fuel mileage or other nuttiness about saving the planet.
