If CO2 is overheating the Earth, why isn't the Earth overheating?

Carbon dioxide levels are now 27 percent higher than at any point in the last 650,000 years, according to research into Antarctic ice cores published on Thursday in Science.

That today's atmospheric CO2 is higher than CO2 in ice cores is hardly news--we've known that for decades. What is hard to believe is that any credible scientist would consider that as evidence for CO2 causing global warming. For example, CO2 is stated to be 27% higher now than in ice cores, but that's only an increase of 0.008% in atmospheric composition. If you take 27% of nothing, you still get nothing!
