Where there has been a change is in feelings towards the amount of the increase in temperatures. Last year half (50%) of those who believe humans are contributing to an increase in temperatures characterized that increase as substantial; this year 40 percent say it is substantial. Just under this (38%) believe the change is moderate, while one-third (33%) said it was moderate last year. One in five (18%) say the increase is slight, while 14 percent said slight last year.
The impact of global warming is not one that people believe will be a threat to them or their families soon. Three in ten (30%) Americans believe global warming will present a threat to them and their families within their lifetime while 39 percent believe it will not and almost one-third (31%) are not sure. Last year, over one-third (36%) believed it would be a threat within their lifetime while 41 percent said it would not and one-quarter (24%) were not sure.
In short, and I am sorry to say it, anti-greens (Reds, as we call them) appear to be more willing to comment, more structured, more able to quote peer reviewed research, more apparently rational and apparently wider read and better informed.

Effects of global warming are already seen in Nevada. One result is increased wildfires. Longer summers mean more dried out fuels, allowing fires to ignite easier and spread faster. The wildfire season in the West is now 78 days longer than it was 30 years ago. And the average duration of fires covering more than 2,500 acres has risen five-fold.

Oregon Secretary of State Bill Bradbury, who completed a rigorous training program led by former Vice President Al Gore, will give a free presentation about issues and solutions surrounding global warming Monday, April 21, at 7:30 p.m. in Smith Auditorium at Willamette University.
Bradbury was part of a group of 50 individuals chosen to receive intensive training by Gore and a team of renowned scientists about global warming issues. Each received technical training to become experienced presenters of a version of Gore’s computer-based slide show, which became the basis of his best-selling book and documentary film, “An Inconvenient Truth.”

Now is the time for the people to speak up. We need leaders who will tell us to stop running toward the edge of the cliff. That cliff is fast approaching, and unless someone has the courage to stand up for the rights of humans to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, the momentum we have generated due to our irrational fears will cause us all to topple into the sea.
In an effort to fulfill his promise of a concert on every continent for his “Live Earth” event on July 7 to 8, Al Gore approached the British Antarctic Survey in February to explore the possibility of flying a band in to its Rothera Research Station in Antarctica.
If Al Gore is really worried about the environment, he should take the issue seriously and work towards a moratorium against proposals to use agrofuels as a replacement for fossil fuels. He should listen to the voices of the people who live in the countries where the raw materials are produced and who have suffered because of the methods used to produce agrofuels . Al Gore should be realistic, re-read the letter we sent him and acknowledge that there is no way of producing sustainable or responsible agrofuels in order to maintain to the level of energy squandering which is taking place in the "developed" world.
We fear that the campaigns that have been initiated in order to provide fuel for motor cars at the cost of our agriculture will increase poverty and hunger, will increase the environmental crisis, and deepen the current model of economic dependency in Argentina. On the international level, this campaign, which almost all local politicians are supporting through their irresponsibility and complicity, carries with it the process of advancement of global capitalism, in which the agro- and biotechnology industries, the motor and oil industries unite and mould the planet to their will, turning climate change and the ecological catastrophes into a new and formidable business as a means towards the eventual appropriation of total control.

[Brian Davis expressed] skepticism "that mankind has little if anything to do with global warming." "I don't deny that there are areas where glaciers are shrinking and breaking up, but then there are areas where ice packs are forming," Davis said. "Climate is very variable. And it's very difficult to predict."
According to the DFL's Melendez, Davis is "toeing the party line too much. The things I've heard him say, like about global warming, suggests to me that this guy is a little off-kilter."
My hope is that this is actually a "trial balloon." As we used to say in the British government when leaking a potentially unpopular idea, "Let's run up a flag and see who salutes."
...It was a somewhat amusing type of balance but a typical viewer's impression after having seen these two hours is probably correct: climate realism is mostly a domain of rationally thinking people while climate alarmism is primarily a domain of nuts.
Historically, we are currently living in a frigid "Ice House" compared to the "Hot House" endured by our predecessors the dinosaurs, who roamed the earth when the poles were covered by lush forests.
But all this matters little to the demagogues of a giant sprawling cash cow whose continued funding relies on tying everything that happens to man-made global warming and that "evil" life-giving gas, carbon dioxide.
The real environmental issues - GM frankenstein food, deforestation and toxic waste dumping amongst others, will continue to be neglected as we are led on a merry dance by the climate change cultists - but as the hard evidence increasingly belies the hoax that they have foisted upon us, their credibility and influence will continue to wane.

It turns out the production of biofuels such as ethanol and biodiesel is likely to cause far more environmental damage than it prevents, not to mention triggering widespread famine and eating up more rainforest and grassland than beef production ever could.

Former British Chancellor of the Exchequer (Secretary of the Treasury) and fierce climate-change-theory critic Nigel Lawson is also skeptical of Gore’s message.
In an interview with state-run television station RÚV, following Gore’s lecture in Iceland, Lawson said that he does not believe that the issue of climate change is being “sufficiently, rationally discussed and argued about” and that environmentalism had become “almost a new religion.”
“Al Gore is preaching a gospel which is false—worse—damaging,” Lawson told RÚV, adding that a High Court judge in the UK found “eleven major errors” in Gore’s documentary An Inconvenient Truth.

Councils, enterprise agencies, government bodies and the government itself would all be accountable for any development or plan which increases the pollution that is warming the globe.
Unison is proposing that chief executives responsible for climate-wrecking schemes should be hauled up before school children to explain their actions.
