Ky. doesn't keep electricity medical priority list

FRANKFORT, Ky. -- While millions of people across the country are finding themselves dependent life-sustaining home medical equipment, Kentucky does not maintain a complete list of people for whom a power outage could mean life or death.

Currently, there are nearly 2 million people in the country who use home oxygen machines that need electricity. About 10,000 people nationally use home ventilators to breath, while thousands have ventricular assist devices to help pump their hearts.
