Record Growth for Wind Power - Green Inc. Blog - NYTimes.com
Wind farms were built at a blistering pace last year, as wind power capacity grew by a record 50 percent in 2008, according to new figures from the American Wind Energy Association.
...
Ms. Bode has previously said that, “If something isn’t done, we could see as much as a 50 percent reduction in new wind starts in 2009 compared to 2008.”

On the bright side, the industry group said that 85,000 people are employed in the wind industry, compared to about 50,000 a year ago.
What's the fair market value of all the power that U.S. wind turbines produced in 2008?

John Redwood MP » Can Davos avoid sloppy thinking?
The conclusions from last year’s Davos summit make interesting reading today. They put out a press release saying “we will have a resolution this year (2008)” to the Israel-Palestine conflict. They promised to make climate change the number one priority at the G8 summit and stressed its importance in all that business does.
Letter to the Editor on newly minted environmental scientists: "...what better job can there be than to keep pushing this global waming B.S.?"
If man-made global warming is so real, has anyone ever asked why the father of global warming, Al Gore, has never sat down and had a serious debate with one of the many (older) scientists that have been studying our climate for 30 to 40-plus years?

Al Gore comes out with his movie, showing phony pictures of icebergs melting, polar bears stranded on ice flows, and never even mentions the sun, which is the largest source we have of global warming. Then like a magician he disappears into the night, never offering any real debate about his film or global warming in general.
