Vietnam earmarks $115 million for global warming - International Herald Tribune
HANOI, Vietnam: Vietnam will spend $115 million over the next six years to prepare for the impact of global warming, which international studies have shown could severely damage the country's long coast and low-lying river deltas.

The money will be used to "assess the impact of global warming on Vietnam and map out a plan of action," Tuesday's Youth newspaper quoted Nguyen Van Duc, the vice minister of natural resources and environment, as saying.
Cold snap hits northern Vietnam
A cold front is moving into northern Vietnam from China, sending temperatures plunging in many provinces and even causing frost in some places, said the National Centre for Hydrometeorological Forecasting.
A cold front that has blown into northern Vietnam is likely to cause frost in some mountainous areas.

The cold weather killed 10 buffalo calves in Bac Ha District, Lao Cai Province. Other provinces have yet to report their cattle death toll.
