With global "warming" allegedly accelerating, why does the stimulus package include funds for an Icebreaker?
Also included was $153 million for a Great Lakes Icebreaker, $100 million for short line railroads, $55 million for the Maritime Administration, $45 million for the St. Lawrence Seaway and $45 million in loan guarantees for short sea shipping.
But why should there be ANY climate change legislation?
Some breaking news on the climate-change front: The Edison Electric Institute, which represents the nation’s major, shareholder-owned utilities, is about to announce a “unified” position on what climate-change legislation should look like.

She said that the administration’s environmental priorities were curbing global warming, reducing air pollution, cleaning up hazardous waste sites, regulating toxic chemicals and protecting water quality.

Her confirmation appears on track. The ranking Republican on the committee, Senator James Inhofe of Oklahoma, a skeptic on global warming, called her “accessible and reasonable” and said he planned to vote to confirm her.
