The trees are allegedly sick - News
Dr. Leonard Krishtalka presented at the Rockhurst University "Visiting Scholar" lecture series last Tuesday.

His discussion, entitled "The Environmental Crisis: Grand Challenges and Big Ideas," raised a number of concerns including the imminent doom of millions of species of plants and animals, the ethics of bioengineering and inherent human tribalism.

Additionally, Krishtalka assured the crowd that global warming was a very real and tangible threat to planet earth. With the aid of supercomputers and predictive algorithms, Krishtalka's team of scientists has been able to simulate with substantial accuracy the effect global warming has had on certain species of animals.

He encouraged the students attending to take matters in their own hands to ensure the future of the planet.

Legislation to curb carbon emissions is still far from a done deal, but apparently it seems real enough that at least one utility is calling it quits on its efforts to build a coal-fired power plant.

A rural electric cooperative in southern Montana says it will stop pushing for development of the Highwood Generating Station, a controversial proposed plant near Great Falls, and instead turn to developing wind energy.
