Australia: Carbon trading plan falters

At this stage it appears doubtful that the federal government’s emissions trading scheme legislation will go through parliament by the target of June 30 this year.

Climate Change Minister, Penny Wong introduced the draft legislation this week, but already there has been negative fallout from Senate cross benches, the Greens and the Opposition.
