Npower has submitted an application to the three councils for planning permission to build 12 wind turbines up to 125m tall between the villages of Bozeat, Lavendon and Harrold, along with permission to access the site for an operational period of 25 years.

Mr Skittrall added: "It would not be so bad if this was a particularly good site, but because it is in the least windy part of Britain, it would only make a pathetic contribution to reducing carbon emissions which is not enough to justify its local impact. In this area, wind turbines are much more efficient at generating profits than they are at generating useful electricity."
