FORMER Labor MP Evan Thornley has been accused of lying about his involvement with an electric car company he quit State Parliament to join.Australia: Anna Bligh tells new ministers to get straight to work | The Courier-Mail
Since leaving politics in December to become Australian chief executive of the international company, Better Place, Mr Thornley has repeatedly denied playing a part in Government dealings to bring it to Australia.
But documents obtained by the Opposition under freedom-of-information laws show Mr Thornley and Better Place met before September 4, and described him as a parliamentary secretary.

"Climate change is like Hamburger Helper," said Scott Segal, a lobbyist for coal-fired utilities and other energy companies. "It's one of those popular concerns that people in any distantly related area on the Hill want to associate themselves to attract interest."
But workers union national secretary Paul Howes said Professor Garnaut was "bashing" emissions-intensive, trade-exposed industries that needed help to change to the new international carbon trading system.
"The professor's speech to the Greenhouse 2009 conference in Perth is an example of an ego gone mad," Mr Howes said.
"His new stance might make him a hero to certain inner-city Green elements, but … is an attack on regional Australia."
