Blue Crab Boulevard » Reasonable People…
Fact one shows Northern Hemisphere sea ice at about 1/2 million square Km below “average”.

Fact two shows Southern Hemisphere sea ice at about 1 million square Km above “average”.

That is a net increase in global sea ice. Period.
The Reference Frame: Correlation of sunspots and sea level
At any rate, the Sun seems to have a huge effect. The graph suggests that solar activity changes the annual sea level rise from a minimum around 0 millimeters per year to a maximum around 5 millimeters per year.

The average trend, around 2.5 millimeters per year in the time interval of the graph, is caused by slower effects - including the Milankovitch cycles and the enhanced greenhouse effect. But you can see that the solar activity is as big as all these effects combined.
What Slump? Corporate America Touts Green Plans Even in Downturn - Environmental Capital - WSJ
The big driver? Not altruism, but the bottom line. Nearly three-quarters of those surveyed (73%) said corporate reputation will be one of the chief motivations behind expanding environmental programs. Other drivers, the majority agreed, would include technological advances making it easier to go green, as well as benefits in marketing.

The coming green flood could be a relfection of how far corporate America still has to go. Only 22% of the respondents said they felt their companies had already put much effort behind green issues. Case in point: Just 36% said their companies do very much in recycling, while 20% reported their companies extensively embrace measures to use energy more efficiently.
