Enforcing proposed Macon anti-idling law to be challenging - Local & State - Macon
Macon Mayor Robert Reichert said he also is skeptical that the law could be reasonably enforced in Macon. It would require police to watch a vehicle idle for 15 minutes before issuing a citation — and he has reservations about making the action a criminal offense. Much could be accomplished by issuing guidelines and educating the public on better driving habits instead, he said.Who Are You Calling Irrational? - WSJ.com
The mayor likened it to advising people to save energy by turning off lights when they leave a room.
“Should that be a law?” he said. “No.”
Many people today are quick to dismiss all religious thought as irrational. Of course there have been a number of irrational claims made by the so-called academic community, such as overpopulation and global cooling leading to world-wide starvation, the grave threat of heterosexual AIDS, and now man-made global warming leading to catastrophe.Alarmist to promote global warming scam?: Daily Herald / Utah Valley Local News
Many who have embraced these ideas are the same individuals who accuse religious people of wanting to impose their views on others. Yet in modern Western society, it is actually the academic community that attempts to impose its irrational beliefs. This comes in the form of legislated "solutions."

PROVO -- Global climate crisis: the biggest threat to the human race, or an elaborate fabrication?Sept '08: More on Richard Gill
The Utah Valley Sierra Forum will host BYU climatologist Richard Gill next week to lay out the facts so the public can make their own judgement regarding the truth about global warming. Organizers hope the event will be "a watershed environmental event in Utah Valley."
Gill used examples from findings published in 2007 by the International Panel on Climate Change and studies he took part in to show the reasons behind climate change, which he said is often misrepresented in politics. He said the validity of climate change is nearly universally accepted by the scientific community and is not controversial.
