Washington » Conservative Democrats, including Rep. Jim Matheson, outlined a series of concerns Tuesday with a climate change bill now being debated in the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

Matheson, chairman of the conservative Blue Dog Democratic energy panel, said he wants the legislation to be more bipartisan, more market-based and less proscriptive. He also disagrees with President Barack Obama, who wants to use, for a tax cut, the money earned from the selling and trading of allowances to emit carbon between businesses. Matheson thinks the revenue should go to furthering the fight against global warming.
