From an alarmist: Rogues' Gallery of Global Warming [Ebell/Hayward/Kreutzer] Appears before E&C Committee
Of course, it isn't really a laughing matter when clowns like these can tie up policy discussions with falsehoods and misinformation. Which is why its important to know what a joke they are ahead of time.
Wind Watch: Complete nonsense how wind turbine off M4 is powered
It seems that of this country’s 2,400 turbines at least one, visible from the M4, is known to function for only 40 per cent of the time, the windspeed being inadequate for the other 60 per cent.

BUT, in order to guard against rusting and consequent seizing-up of the blades they have to be rotated during inactive periods by electricity from another source , namely (you’ve guessed it) the coal-fired power-stations kept on stand-by.

So this particular monstrosity (and there are certainly others) not only fails to generate electricity, at times it actually consumes it!
“We don’t need no stinking baseload,” FERC Chairman | GlobalWarming.org
Okay, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Chairman Jon Wellinghoff didn’t actually say America doesn’t need coal-fired and nuclear power plants. He stopped short of openly embracing the We Can Solve It! agenda of ”repowering” America” with zero-emissions, non-nuclear electricity in 10 years. He is not an avowed apostle of Gorethodoxy.

But he’s close enough for government work. Wellinghoff told reporters (Greenwire, subscription required) that we “may not need any [new coal and nuclear power plants], ever.” One reason being that new coal plants will be “too expensive.” Huh?
...
Does it worry you that folks like Obama and Wellinghoff are the anointed stewards of our economy in these troubled times? It does me.
Climate Change 101 - Visions
Just released today: Climate Change 101 from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Institute for 21st Century Energy. The document serves as a "cheat sheet" of terms (cap and trade, greenhouse gas, etc.) and issues surrounding the nation's energy discussion.
