Medieval Warm Period Rediscovered | The Resilient Earth
Meaning all of the earlier IPCC predictions were wrong because they really didn't know what they were doing. Of course that didn't prevent them from predicting a coming climate catastrophe with great confidence. The thing that they don't tell us is that their current “improved” predictions, which are also based on computer models, simply can not be considered accurate either. If the Holocene truly marks the end of the Pleistocene Ice Age and a return to the conditions that prevailed during the Pliocene, parking your SUV and buying carbon credits won't do a thing to stop it.
Prometheus » Blog Archive » The UK Climate Change Committee Illustrates How Not to Do Cost-Benefit Analysis of Climate Policies
Comparing UK benefits to UK costs gives a benefit-cost ratio for the UK taxpayer of 0.06, taking the reports cost estimates at face value. If the world is not on a 450 ppm trajectory the benefit-cost ratio is even lower, and easily could be zero, meaning no benefit to the UK or the world.

The report is amazing for the convoluted effort that it goes to in order to try to show a positive value to the Climate Change Act. However, a close look shows that even under the very dubious assumptions on both the cost and benefit sides of the analysis, the UK taxpayer receives almost no benefit for a remarkably large investment. The UK government must assume that no one will notice or care.
The Reference Frame: Holdren: I will return us to the Age of Smog
Even five degrees Celsius would be more pleasant than the return to the decades of smog, to the age of relatively unknown chemicals and particulate matter filling the atmosphere. In fact, five degrees Celsius of warming could be better than nothing, too.

The idea that we should actually be using similar technologies at a global scale in the next 20 years or so is utterly absurd. There is no problematic global warming, it is far from clear whether the climate will be warming in the next 20 years, there are no tipping points, there are no critical values of the CO2 concentrations where problems suddenly begin - all these concepts are just fantasies being invented to spread fear among the stupid people, to promote dirty chimney communism, and to increase the power of those who want to return us back to the 19th century and beyond.

And that's the memo.
