Valley Farmers Protect Crops from April Frost - 4/16/09 - Fresno News - abc30.com
The cold weather forced citrus farmer Keith Nilmeier at Nilmeier farms to light peach pits. He said the crops of concern are grapes and vegetables and in his 36-year of farming he's never seen it this cold in April.

"I've caught a couple of March frosts, but never April. To catch one like this... Its unusual that makes it twice as hard to protect against frost," said Nilmeier.
