New York: AREA FRUIT CROP NOT SPARED FROM FROST DAMAGE IN MAY
"We got hit pretty hard out here; we suffered some loss too," Abers said. "... We were trying to protect them as best we could. If we didn't have any protection we would have lost everything."

In addition to the strawberries, she said her blueberries were impacted by the frost as well, though, once again, primarily those which were not in full blossom.

"This is our 25th year in business and I really don't remember a year where it got quite that cold that late in May, affecting things that much," Abers said. "... It just got so extremely cold at a really vulnerable time for a lot of crops. I would say, in the 25 years we've been in business, this is the coldest mid-May frost I ever remember."
Deseret News | New record low set at Bryce Canyon
The Bryce Canyon Airport set a low temperature record Monday night when the thermometer dipped to 27 degrees.

That "low minimum" temperature broke the old record of 30 degrees set in 1977.

Bryce Canyon had also set a new low temperature record on June 6, when it recorded a 20-degree reading, to eclipse the old record of 27 degrees set in 1951.
