Boston - The City of Boston and the Mayor’s Climate Action Leadership Committee are seeking nominations to the Community Advisory Committee on Climate Action. Nominations are due by June 26.Global warming ‘balance’ | Freep.com | Detroit Free Press
The Community Advisory Committee will ensure that the ideas and concerns of a broad range of residents are fully considered in the city’s updated Climate Action Plan.
The committee will meet at least four times between July and March, providing input on climate issues and proposed actions and help to develop a plan for engaging all Boston residents, businesses and institutions in climate action.
As you can see (here and here), I found a global warming skeptic [ROSS McKITRICK] to do a set of blog entries for us, and although he’s not from Michigan, he’s at least from an adjacent area code and presumably knows what a trout is – although I think he’s far too cavalier about what’s involved in the survival of some of our more temperature-sensitive species and crops here in Michigan.Martin Feldstein: The Exploding Carbon [Swindle] Tax
I don’t think of this as exactly providing balance, because over the course of time, I’m sure we at the Free Press editorial page will devote far more words – online and in print – to the need to combat global warming/climate change. But it’s also foolish to ignore the fact that there are critics and skeptics. If they’re willing to put their assumptions and logic and data out there for others to analyze, I’m willing to give them an occasional forum. Personally, I give much more credence to the enormous number of scientists who are making the case that the buildup of CO2 and other greenhouse gases is reaching a point that we need to take action.
The costs imposed by the cap and trade system are equivalent to raising a family of four's income tax by 50 percent.
