Michael Barone: Who's afraid of global warming? | Washington Examiner
As for global warming, why assume that every affect will be negative? I grew up in Michigan and would have been grateful for some global warming as I waited in the dark for the school bus. As Plimer explains in the opening chapter of Heaven and Earth, climate has been much warmer and much cooler at various times in the past. Human beings have adapted—and it’s been a lot easier to adapt to warming than cooling.HadISST- June 2009 Values « Climate Audit
Lucia reported on HadSST June 2009 values, which are out quickly and are surprisingly high given seemingly low RSS values.CO2 World Police Crack Down on Top Billion Polluters | The Resilient Earth
...
What does this mean, if anything? Dunno.
The SH-ness of the HadISST increase is interesting because it's definitely been a cool North American summer. We haven't used our air conditioner once this year and most days, I've worn a light sweater. (I'm a Canadian - I like this sort of weather.) Has it been a warm Australian winter?
There you have it: become a success, even in the poorest countries on Earth, and you will be punished for having a large carbon footprint. But surely, you say, I'm not a gross emitter! How many people in the US fall into the big CO2 emitter category? According to the paper the US has 185 million of the world’s 600 million people whose emissions exceed the “relatively high” (16.8 tCO2/year) individual cap of this policy. That is 85% of US population over the age of 18 so be prepared—the CO2 police are coming for us all.
Be safe, enjoy the interglacial and stay skeptical.
