PhotographyCorner.com Announces Contest Corner Challenge #65: Crazy Climate
There's little doubt that, due to climate change, we're experiencing some pretty crazy weather. There are not many upsides to global warming, but one of them may be the fact that photographers can photograph the beautiful effects of the usual and unusual weather patterns. For Contest Corner Challenge #65: Crazy Climate, photographers are simply asked to take and submit a photograph depicting "weather" (lightning, tornados, rain, heat, clouds, etc).HBO presents The Yes Men Fix the World
At conference after conference, The Yes Men take on some of the world’s biggest businesses. Attending Canada’s largest oil conference, they impersonate Exxon Mobil officials and present biofuel candles made from “climate-change victims.” They then claim to be Halliburton executives unveiling apocalyptic “Survivalball” suits that will be marketed to the super-rich.The Migrant Mind: When Hell Froze in July
The Yes Men function as gonzo journalists. They interview scientists and families in New Orleans, where Bichlbaum poses as a U.S. government spokesperson and promises — to a believing Mayor Ray Nagin, among others — to reopen public housing and force Exxon to pay $12 billion to restore the region’s wetlands as a response to Hurricane Katrina.
Note that a 10 degree difference between the two towns during this period is not at all unusual. I count 9 times when the temperature difference was greater than 10 deg F. As noted before on this blog, such a temperature gradient is almost unheard of in meteorology, yet there it is in the data the hysteriacs use to determine global warming.
In reality what this means is that the data is so bad, and the error bar in measuring temperature is so large that one can't know what the climate is actually doing.
