As for the slightly more trivial: my desktop has remained a photo from Greenland since the day I returned; my ‘favourite quote’ on Facebook has been permanently changed to the “We are in the midst of wilderness, even curled up with our lovers in bed” that we were shown by Jessica and Genevieve in the first week in Toronto; my bedroom (and soon to be my university residence room) walls are adorned with posters of wind energy and travel and photos of us and photos of polar bears; some of my friendships are on rocky ground due to my shaming people for purchasing a car when they have no need for it.Surface Mass Balance of the Greenland Ice Sheet
With respect to the stability/longevity of the Greenland Ice Sheet, Ettema et al. state that "considerably more mass accumulates on the Greenland Ice Sheet than previously thought, adjusting upwards earlier estimates by as much as 63%," which suggests that the Northern Hemisphere's largest ice sheet may well hang around a whole lot longer than many climate alarmists have been willing to admit.
