Climate bill politics are heating up -- latimes.com
Critics mock the argument that it would boost U.S. security.

"Passing the bill would create far more severe, dangerous and imminent global crises," James Jay Carafano, a researcher for the conservative Heritage Foundation, wrote last month.

He added: "The law would ensure a steep decline in U.S. economic competitiveness and military preparedness. The consequences of a weak America would inevitably lead to a string of national security crises and an undermining of the nation's capacity to deal with natural disasters here and abroad."
Some preliminary results from GOSAT – CO2 hot spots in interesting places « Watts Up With That?
It will be very interesting to see if the hotspot CO2 distribution holds with more data from GOSAT. If it does we’ll be asking the question of why the USA seems to have less CO2 concentrations than other parts of the world. I’m sure it will fuel some political and policy debate.
Mustn't laugh! Sailing through the Arctic is nothing new
And I suppose it is evil of me to note that Finno-Swedish explorer Nordenskiöld made the first complete transit though the Northeast Passage way back in 1878! Global warming has been around for a long time, apparently. Perhaps the final humiliation for the Warmists, however -- and one not mentioned in most reports -- is that the two freighters were led by a nuclear-powered Russian icebreaker! Nordenskiöld didn't need that! Was it warmer in his day?
