American Thinker Blog: Poll finds nearly 2 in 3 Americans are Manmade Global Warming 'Deniers'
Only 46 days to go before climate alarmists from all over the planet are off on the road to Copenhagen, where they’ll attempt to finalize a treaty intended to control how the entire world produces and consumes energy.

But it appears that the de facto treaty leaders from the U.S. will not only arrive at the summit without an American climate bill with which to demonstrate their leadership, but also without the support of almost two thirds of the citizens they represent back home.

And happily, that doesn’t bode well for the energy governance threat, be it domestic or foreign.
Poll: Americans' belief in global warming cools
Andrew Weaver, a professor of climate analysis at the University of Victoria in British Columbia, said politics could be drowning out scientific awareness.

"It's a combination of poor communication by scientists, a lousy summer in the Eastern United States, people mixing up weather and climate and a full-court press by public relations firms and lobby groups trying to instill a sense of uncertainty and confusion in the public," he said.

One of those lawmakers, Sen. Barbara Boxer of California, told reporters Thursday that she was happy with the results, given the interests and industry groups fighting the bill.

"Today, to get 57 percent saying that the climate is warming is good, because today everybody is grumpy about everything," Boxer said. "Science will win the day in America. Science always wins the day."
Obama not doing enough on climate change - Pachauri | World | Reuters
"I personally feel that he ought to be doing a lot more," Pachauri told reporters on the sidelines of a conference, when asked about Obama's commitment to combating climate change.

"I think that President Obama really needs to assert himself to see that the U.S. passes legislation -- it will make all the difference to negotiations," he said, referring to the Copenhagen talks on Dec. 7-18.

“The report makes it clear that biofuels have a future role, but also underlines that there may be other options for combating climate change that may, or may not involve turning ever more crops and crop wastes into liquid fuels,” said Achim Steiner, the executive director of U.N.E.P., in a statement.
