In what its participants call the largest deal of its kind thus far in the United States, Godman Sachs Group, Blue Source and CE2 Carbon Capital are expected to announce Monday they have completed a $12 million carbon offsets transaction.

Representatives of Goldman Sachs and CE2 would not disclose the value of the deal in metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) – the volumetric standard by which offsets are often measured.
Hard Frost Hits the Midwest, Grains Surge...
Grains surged overnight after freezing temperatures hit much of the northern Midwest over the weekend. Hard frost was seen over the weekend throughout MN, WI, Northern IA, Northern IL, NE, SD and ND. Temps in parts of NW Iowa, NE and SD. fell into the teens. Snow is expected in several of these areas early this week. It is unclear as to what kind of yield loss will be seen as a result of the freeze.
