From hiding evidence of ancient warming periods to the cherry picking and outright manipulation of data, there is much to be accounted for here.

...However, the rare abundance of skepticism in his piece means that even a strong "consensus" believer like himself has been rocked by this scandal, so much so that he's even willing to write about it.

Most believers in AGW (who I accept include the majority of scientists in this field) acknowledge the significance of the Climategate scandal, breaking as it has on the eve of the Copenhagen summit. But the BBC is holding firm, providing far less than the bare minimum of coverage that licence payers have a right to expect.
