Democrats will lose US House in 2010
WASHINGTON, Dec 29 (Reuters Breakingviews) - The trend is not the Democrats' friend in 2010. U.S. President Barack Obama's party almost always suffers losses in midterm congressional elections. To that time-tested dynamic now add voter angst about unemployment, deficits and controversial legislation.
Expect Senate majority leader Harry Reid to lose his 60-seat supermajority and Nancy Pelosi to hand the House back to the Republicans.
Omaha.com - Trouble builds up on roofs
Phones at roofing contractors and hardware stores were ringing nonstop Monday as Omahans sought advice on keeping the snow piled on their roof from leaking into their homes.

Malcolm Watt, owner of Hometown Roofing Inc., said his office had received about 30 calls before 11 a.m. from people wanting snow removed from their roof.

The National Weather Service in Valley said 24 inches of snow has fallen on Omaha in December.
