EcoFreako: The Al Gore Tribute Band « Roy Spencer, Ph. D.
Now that Mr. Gore has moved on to other things such as winning Nobel Peace Prizes, it’s only appropriate that he should have a tribute band. At least that’s what my evil twin brother and rocker, Butch Spencer, told me. Butch and several of his musician friends got together a year or so ago and recorded a couple of songs (mp3’s and lyrics below) to honor Mr. Gore’s tireless efforts to Save the Earth.

The band was called EcoFreako, and it lasted about a week before everyone found better things to do with their free time.
EU Referendum: Nothing is ever what it seems
Thus, the very evident concern of Munich Re is to exploit the financial opportunities created by climate change, its enthusiasm for talking up the "threat" clearly influenced by its perception that there are major gains to be made.
...
But what it also makes is one giant scam. Whatever the original motivation of the climate alarmists might have been – and one can concede that many people have been genuinely concerned about global warming – the issue has now been hijacked by the money men and the financial institutions, who are intent on exploiting the "opportunities" afforded.
Global warming debate: A climate scientist responds. Part 6: What's a 'denier?'
Tom’s Comeback: I think ‘denialist’ is a political term used for political reasons, to class anyone who doesn’t agree with the activist point of view alongside those who denied the Holocaust. I don’t like it.
Abbott: ETS is a "slush fund" | Australian Climate Madness
Tony Abbott has picked up the point made here yesterday, that the ETS will simply redistribute wealth with no benefit to the climate:
Speaking after the Government said Treasury modelling showed low-income households would get an average of $610 in cash compensation but would only experience price rises of $420, Mr Abbott questioned the purpose of the scheme.

''When the Government starts talking about 120 per cent compensation for some people, it gives rise to the understandable suspicion that the ETS is not about the environment, it's really about a political slush fund.''
NC Media Watch: I guess experience does not count!
Why is it that the Governor and Legislature think that California can succeed in creating green jobs with out destroying existing jobs when Spain and Germany have failed. Why do they think a California Cap and Tax program will produce economic growth in California when similar programs in Germany and Spain have done just the opposite?
As threats multiply and power fragments, the coming decade cries out for realistic idealism | Timothy Garton Ash | Comment is free | The Guardian
At decade's end, the Copenhagen summit on climate change was a perfect vignette of this world of global problems without global governance.
