At the Gore fibfest about the world’s melting ice, the following intriguing facts were not pointed out. Global temperatures have been falling for nine years. CO2 concentration is rising at half the rate predicted by the UN. Sea level has not been rising at all for four years, and its long-run trend is just 1 ft/century. The summer minimum sea ice in the Arctic in September 2009 was 24% up on September 2007. The 30-year summer ice minimum in the Arctic in 2007 was followed, just weeks later, by a 30-year ice maximum in the Antarctic. Methane has practically no effect on global temperature: there is simply too little of it in the atmosphere. And so on, and so on. The unscientific politicians and politicized scientists will not tell us the truth, because the truth shows how baseless their scare stories are.

Alas, climate scam sank my scheme

The end result is that any e-mail this week that involves "Canada" and "climate change" is probably headed for the spam folder.

All of which bodes ill for my own e-mail plan, a remodelled, updated version of the Nigerian scam, which up until now looked like it would be a major winner.
