With Pachauri's London operation, TERI Europe, having blatantly doctored its own accounts, and its director and company secretary having admitted to "anomalies", promising to submit "revised" accounts to the Charity Commission, alarm bells should be ringing in the DFID headquarters, with serious questions being asked as to whether any UK funds should be given to this organisation.

Happy to take the "honour" on their behalf, his responsibility apparently ceases the moment his colleagues' work is questioned. This is a man with no honour.

What we see is a longer term trend away from “If we don’t act now it will be too late” and a slow, incremental growth in the “Concerns are exaggerated” responses – although both appear to have stabilised over recent months.

The really big stand outs here are the increasing partisan divide not only on the CPRS legislation – which is probably to be expected – but also in generic views about global warming. The other is the pretty significant difference between men and women on each issue – a difference well, well beyond any margin of error involved in the polling.

Salem Audubon Society will welcome speaker Greg Craven, author of "What's the Worst That Could Happen? A Rational Response to the Climate Change Debate," at its chapter meeting Wednesday.

Craven graduated from Willamette University with a master's degree in teaching and teaches physics at Central High School in Independence.

He has posted dozens of YouTube videos about climate change responses and causes, the popularity of which prompted him to write the book.

The stakes are high, and the scientific opinion has come down squarely on one side – those of us who have better things to do with our lives than taking a crash course in climate science ought to trust them. Climategate was a well-timed and malicious leak with the most damming items highlighted in an attempt to undermine that trust. There are a few shocking things in there, but not enough to undermine an entire scientific discipline, and if you cleave to that opinion, you are being played. Simple as that.
