A few days ago I was mildly amused to see perhaps Indian TV's most famous (and perhaps most influential) personality Prannoy Roy of NDTV play a fawning spoon to Rajendra Pachauri [see the video].I say 'mildly' because I have come to expect such servility from the MSM- it is their normal mode.Still, it's an amazing example of media's obsequiousness towards Pachauri.No wonder Pachauri gets miffed easily when criticized. He has had it so easy over the years.

We started publishing climategate.com just last month, but we’ve already made it to the first page of Google, Bing and Yahoo for the search “climategate.” At the moment, we are #4 on Google, #3 on Bing and #1 on Yahoo. It’s great to know that when someone searches for the term, they will find a website devoted to the subject, with a skeptical point of view, and not be fed Wikipedia-type propaganda.

No reason for Schadenfreude. I think this is encouraging, finally scientists come clean. I would hope we see more of this in the process of reforming the advisory system for climate change. If individual scientists want to make statements that 'oversell' the state of knowledge, they are free to do so. And they need to be ready to take the criticism. They should not be allowed to hide behind the facade of the 'objective' and 'policy neutral' IPCC.
