Guest opinion: The politics of global warming - Boulder Daily Camera
[Don Lloyd] Under the headline "Experts: Mistakes in report" (Camera, Feb. 11) it was admitted that "the facts were not so good" in the second report of the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) "which attempts to translate what global warming [GW] might mean to daily lives around the world." It was confidently stated that "no errors have surfaced in the first and most well-known of the reports, which said the physics of a warming atmosphere and rising seas is manmade and incontrovertible." However, this conveniently overlooks the infamous "hockey stick graph" so prominently touted in the IPCC report to prove the concurrence of GW and rise in CO2 in the atmosphere. When this graph was found to be constructed using basic technical mistakes by the author, it was quietly expunged from the data and the report, never to be discussed again.
