Where Did the Global Warming Go? The President Explains It For You... - Hit & Run : Reason Magazine
Doubts about the climate change consensus extend far beyond some comical anecdotes about the weather. Ron Bailey explains why both credible and unreliable global warming claims have taken on a bad odor lately in "Climate Crackup," his cover story from the March issue of Reason.
Scientists troubled on fallen faith | ABH News
Decline in public confidence in climate science over the climategate scandal has emerged as a big trouble for researchers, claimed a top US academic at the science conference in San Diego on Saturday.

While speaking about ‘transparency and integrity in science’ President of the National academy of Science Dr. Ralph Cicerone said that there has been a decline in public trust on Climatology and it is spreading.
...
Dr. Cicerone, however, expected the scientists to create a new level of trust with the people.
Olympic offsets for dummies - Peterborough Examiner - Ontario, CA
The problem with the political discussion about climate change these days is its "let's pretend" nature.

Much like Environment Minister Jim Prentice was pretending this week that the $150,000 Canada is spending on carbon offsets will "help offset the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of its Olympic Games."
...
Finally, it's sad Conservatives still feel the need to indulge in symbolic silliness like buying carbon offsets as a penance for Prime Minister Stephen Harper observing, when he was Canadian Alliance leader in 2002, that the Kyoto accord, ostensibly drafted to reduce GHG emissions, was in fact a socialist scheme to suck money out of developed countries like ours.

It's sad because Harper was right.
IPCC responsible for public losing confidence in climate science: Expert
Dr Cicerone pointed out that the IPCC was widely viewed as the foremost authority on climate change, adding: “the greater the stature of the institution, the harder the fall”.

He said: “The IPCC could have gone public with all the information and said, ‘Here’s what happened and we screwed up’.

“It didn’t and I think that hurts the reputation of the institution,” he said.
GEORGE WILL: They tried to blind you with science - Taunton, MA - The Taunton Gazette
Last week, BP America, ConocoPhillips and Caterpillar, three early members of the 31-member U.S. Climate Action Partnership, said: Oh, never mind. They withdrew from USCAP. It is a coalition of corporations and global warming alarm groups that was formed in 2007 when carbon rationing legislation seemed inevitable and collaboration with the rationers seemed prudent. A spokesman for Conoco said: “We need to spend time addressing the issues that impact our shareholders and consumers.” What a concept.

2. Anthropogenic global warming is a hoax.
...
Kernel of Truth? Deniers have long taken advantage of scientists' cautious statements, and "Climategate" breathed new life into the movement, but the science stands: warming is real, and it's caused by human actions.
