DHS: Fossil Fuels and Climate Change are ‘National Threats’ - Vladimir’s blog - RedState
Ms. Napolitano, it seems as though your party has a bad habit of taking a government agency with a worthwhile goal (in this case, the critical goal of Homeland Security), and confusing the mission with a mishmash of other incidental policy issues and distractions.

* Our use of fossil fuels does not threaten our security.
* There is no evidence of an increasing trend in the number or severity of storms.
* ManBearPig is not going to kill us all in our beds.

Now, please get back to the serious business of securing our borders and keeping out the bad guys who would do our country real harm.
Virginia Declares Emergency Before Storm Arrives | NBC Washington
Ryan said models currently project this storm to be similar to the February 1983 storm that left 17 inches of snow in Washington and as much as 2 feet in other areas of the region.

Whatever amount of snow we receive should last quite a while, as the storm will be followed by the coldest air of the season.
Biofuel Production Falls [Way] Short of Target - WSJ.com
The Environmental Protection Agency said Wednesday that it expects the biofuels industry to produce 6.5 million gallons of cellulosic ethanol this year, a fraction of the volume anticipated by Congress.

The announcement suggests that government goals for turning inedible crops into transportation fuel have been unrealistic and too optimistic about the private sector's ability to advance existing technology and finance new refineries for biofuels.

In 2007, Congress had mandated that 100 million gallons of cellulosic ethanol—a fuel additive to gasoline made from switchgrass, sugar cane bagasse and other plants—be blended into the nation's fuels this year. By next year, the mandate was for 250 million gallons, heading up to 16 billion by 2022.

If the 2010 elections don't become a referendum on cap-and-trade/EPA power-grab/Kyoto II, and soon, then Republicans really aren't ready yet to come back in from the cold.
