Eugene Robinson - Cold truths about the Northeast's harsh winter - washingtonpost.com
We're the nation that put a man on the moon, so we can't be stupid. We're just pretending, right? We're not really taking seriously the "argument" that the big snowstorms that have hit the Northeast in recent weeks constitute evidence -- or even proof -- that climate change is some kind of hoax.Oceans Acidifying, Warmest January and Mass Delusion « Sam T Parry
That would be unbelievably dumb.

But there is one unanswered question that I want climate scientists to address: Please tell me when the Robinson Glacier outside my house is going to melt.
The burning of fossil fuels (mainly oil and coal) releases carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and traps heat, warming the planet and changing our climate.Climate: New Warming Expected, An Obviously Unbiased Report | MND: Your Daily Dose of Counter-Theory
Ergo, global warming is real and it’s happening.
Now, there is still a debate about how much warming will there be over how long and what impacts that warming will have on the climate. The range of predictions is wide, from the end of human civilization as we know it and the extinction of millions of species on the planet to it might not be that bad.

Friedman in the New York Times, as well as others I’ve read over the past couple of years, I decided to try my hand at environmental journalism. Also, while the algae findings offer a glimmer of hope, there remain plenty of reasons to worry. Perhaps chief among them is the fact that as ocean waters absorb carbon dioxide they become more acidic, threatening the coral skeletons.Global warming: The 'Nuremberg Climate Trials': A defence
Remembering that most of the people they class as 'deniers' are not, in fact, a monolithic bloc, including as we do lukewarmers such as myself (who believe that human emissions of CO2 cause temperature rises, but that the extent has been exaggerated by the same people who call us 'denialists') and others who have sharply diverse opinions on the issue, it might be useful to marshal some arguments that could be advanced in case such a Nuremberg Trial were ever to occur.NASA GISS Speaks – FOIA Emails « Musings from the Chiefio
