Have Olympic protesters lost credibility after the riot?
More than 200 violent agitators smashed windows and threw paint on the windows of the HBC superstore downtown Vancouver Saturday morning.

Anti-Olympic demonstrators wearing bandanas and balaclavas smashed windows and overturned newspaper boxes in downtown Vancouver today, part of an anti-Olympic protest march organizers named The 2010 Heart Attack. The march billed itself as a demonstration designed the "clog the arteries of capitalism," according to promotional pamphlets handed out before the rally got underway at around 9 a.m. According to police, around 200 demonstrators took part.

Climate-change activist and transportation planner Eric Doherty was also there. He acknowledged that it was a “higher risk event” compared to the relatively peaceful demonstration on February 12, the opening day of the Games.

"This is one event with a certain tone to it,” Doherty said in an interview. “It’s largely by younger people. Given the climate crisis, I understand why young people are angry.”

According to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, 425 sea turtles have washed ashore.

Almost two-thirds of them have died.
