Rudd Government says Opposition Leader Tony Abott's climate-change plans will not cut emissions | Herald Sun
While he spent some time selling his own plan by climbing on to a roof to look at solar panels, Mr Abbott's focus was attacking Labor.

Finance Minister Lindsay Tanner portrayed Mr Abbott as a snake oil salesman.

"There it is in a little bottle; it is just a little bit of dirt, a few trees and a few solar panels. Mix them all together and you have got Dr Abbott's miracle cure for climate change," Mr Tanner said.
MIT professor [promotes massive hoax at church] - Stoneham, MA - Stoneham Sun
A leading mind on climate change, Kerry Emanuel, professor of atmospheric science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People, recently delivered a lecture on global warming and climate change at Stoneham’s St. Patrick Church in front of approximately 90 audience members.
...
“[The available disinformation in the public] affects the perception of climate change,” Dr. Emanuel said in a recent interview with the Sun regarding the dilemma plaguing not only himself, but the entire scientific community. “The problem is that you have on one side, scientists who by their very nature are never unequivocal about things; we’re always questioning everything. Then on the other side you have people with vested interests, who are making a lawyerly case about this or that.”

“You put the two against each other, and it’s a very lopsided match,” he added. “Public perception has been warped by a rather deliberate campaign of disinformation. But as soon as we become advocates, we cease being scientists.”
...he described a grim fate for the planet if the feedback from climate change continues to be ignored.

“I think that the main hex of climate change that we’re worried about is changes in the sea level, since a lot of the global population lives pretty close to sea level,” he said. “Second, changes in the incidents of flooding and droughts, because some of the world’s populations are close to the carrying capacity of the planet, and shifts in agriculture production and water availability can destabilize a society. Changes in diseases and severe weather events are also a concern.”
Give Al Gore his due: WND
I never thought Al Gore was very bright, but you've got to give the guy his due.

He's got the whole world trading carbon credits and measuring carbon footprints. He has turned the economic order of the world upside-down. He's whipped up more apocalyptic hysteria than the Mayan calendar.

Al Gore did all that with his invention of manmade, catastrophic global warming.

And, make no mistake about it, unlike his claim to birthing the Internet, Al Gore really did invent climate change out of nothing more than computer models, a fertile imagination and political necessity.

The first 13 days of 2010 tied 1942 for the coldest first 13 days of any January on record in the region, with an average temperature of 22.3 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
