Walter Williams: Global Warming Update
What would all the beneficiaries of the global warming hype do if it becomes widely known and accepted that mankind's activities have very little to do with the Earth's temperature? I don't know but a lot of people would feel and look like idiots. But I bet that even if the permafrost returned as far south as New Jersey, as it once did, the warmers and their congressional stooges would still call for measures to fight global warming.
David Cameron should take note: AGW is so yesterday – Telegraph Blogs
“Man-made global warming? Oh – that hoary old chestnut! Ye gods – I vaguely remember that scare. Didn’t we once believe the world was carried on the back of a giant turtle? Ye-e-es, I believe quite a few people were taken in at the time… Mind you, I never gave it a moment’s credibility, but you know what people are… There’s one born every minute, as they say…”

Suddenly, AGW is so yesterday. Pity poor warmists, abruptly exposed to the chill blast of scepticism. Yesterday they were part of a massive, authoritative consensus (well, more like a herd of lemmings, actually), today they waken up to find scientific hemlines have changed fashion entirely. Just take a look at the unimaginable headlines all over the Guardian: “No apology from IPCC chief Rajendra Pachauri for glacier fallacy”… “How scientists kept the sceptics out…”
...
It is clear the warmists’ strategy now is to admit a few “isolated” misdemeanours, to throw Rajendra Pachauri and Phil Jones out of the sleigh to divert the pursuing wolf pack and then to try to resume the agenda, having “cleansed” it of impurities.

It will not work. The reason why it will not work is that the climate debate is not an academic discussion but a political programme. It aims to secure a massive shift of political, social and fiscal authority in favour of the state. To implement that agenda, governments must shortly attempt to impose punitive taxes on citizens. Those citizens, now disabused of the AGW scare, will refuse to pay. That is an absolute certainty. Any political party that pursues that agenda is doomed to extinction. Taxpayers will not put up with it.
IPCC cited multiple Master’s Students in AR4, some unpublished « ClimateQuotes.com
The news that the IPCC cited a master's student's dissertation caused quite a stir. However, this citation wasn't alone in the IPCC's AR4. There are nine citations of Master's theses altogether, and two of those weren't even published. There were also thirty-one PHD theses or dissertations, one of which was unpublished, and three of which are from the University of East Anglia. Here is the list below

If sea level rose 60 meters, that would wipe out most of the world’s population [except those people who, given hundreds of years to think about it, decided to walk uphill before drowning?] – which would no doubt make some environmentalists happy.
