Noting that the House passed an energy bill that included cap and trade, Emanuel said in an interview aired Sunday on ABC's "This Week" that Obama’s goal now “is to get the Senate to pass a comprehensive energy bill that reduces our dependence on foreign oil, makes key investments in the areas of alternative energy so America leads in that space, and deals fundamentally with the environmental degradation that happens from carbon [dioxide] pollution.”

Fans of the wildflowers at Paradise might have to wait longer than normal this summer to see the explosion of color in the meadows.

Stefan Lofgren, ranger at Mount Rainier National Park, reported that the snow depth at Paradise on June 10 was 126 inches. That is 133 percent of the historic average for that date, 95 inches.

Weeks after snow ruined ginseng farms in Marathon, Lincoln, and Langlade Counties, many farmers are still waiting on disaster assistance, Governor Jim Doyle requested last month.

Hsu Ginseng Enterprise has been a thriving business in Wausau for nearly 40 years.

The owner says on May 7th, he couldn't believe all the white stuff outside, that flattened his farms.

"That's like the atomic bomb hit Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the whole thing flat and in 107-108 years of growing history in Marathon County and Central Wisconsin, never have that happened before and it's a century disaster," says Paul Hsu.
