Syracuse, NY -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's top official in the region said a $500,000 grant for climate change planned here is "cold cash to cool the planet.''

"EPA is making this investment in Central New York because climate change is real and it's happening now,'' Judith Enck, Region 2 administrator, said at a news conference today to announce the grant to the Central New York Regional Planning and Development Board.
