Chicken Little Was a Calamitologist – by Ed Caryl « P Gosselin – NoTricksZone
The warmists call themselves climatologists, but that term is a job description, not a degree. A better description would be calamitologist - one who envisions climate calamities. Let’s look at a few resumes of some famous calamitologists.‘Think about What’s Happening in Countries like Germany . . . ‘ - Planet Gore - National Review Online
In Handelsblatt, Lüder Gerken, of German think-tank Centrum für Europäische Politik, criticises the justifications made by the German Environment Minister Norbert Röttgen, together with the British and French ministers, to increase the EU’s emissions target. “The politicians ignore what students of economics learn in their first semester – that the overall economic product falls when a production factor that was once free, bears costs; and it falls even more when one puts tax on it”, he said. He adds that it will lead to a “decrease in production” and “cuts in employment”.Malaysia closes diving reefs to save coral - Telegraph
Malaysia has closed several of its world-famous diving sites including those surrounding the tropical islands of Tioman and Redang because authorities claim the coral is being killed off by global warming.[You know that Tennessee flooding fiasco? That was caused by carbon dioxide]
...
"We expect [the corals] to recover or at least improve." Mr Abdul Jamal said The Department of Marine Parks claimed the damaged coral was solely the result of rising sea temperatures and not tourism activities. [If that's true, why ban tourism activities?]
However, Mr Abdul Jamal explained that by banning diving, the coral will be given time to regenerate naturally. [But if global warming is really causing this problem, and if global warming is accelerating, why would the coral regenerate?]
[Steve Cohen, D-Tenn, noted] that some had suggested there had been no warning for the flooding, expressed a different view. The Associated Press: Feds defend response to Tennessee flooding
“We had a major warning and that warning came from Al Gore in his Inconconvenient Truth book,” he said. “We need to heed that warning or we will continue to have these types of floods.
“We can have better warning systems. We can have better responses. But we’ll continue to have more disastrous climatic change if we don’t get a grip on carbon emissions and pass a comprehensive bill that deals with this issue.
Rep. Jim Cooper, a Democrat who represents the Nashville area, was particularly critical, saying the corps is putting "a cheerful face on some really ugly facts." He said the agency was woefully slow to realize the severity of the flooding and didn't establish an emergency operations center until people had died.
"It's hard to see how the corps could give itself any kind of passing grade," he said. "I know Boy Scout troops that are more prepared than this."
Rep. Steven Cohen, a Memphis Democrat, said such violent storms are becoming more frequent as a result of global warming. He called on climate change skeptics to take notice and join efforts to reduce carbon emissions.
