Did Al Gore really deserve a Nobel "Peace" prize for helping to inspire violent nutcases?

CNN's Sanchez Hesitant to Blame Left for Discovery Channel Terrorist, Says 'Most' Think He Went 'Too Far' | NewsBusters.org
CNN's Rick Sanchez, who was quick to blame Fox News for the 2009 murders of three police officers in Pennsylvania, treaded much more carefully on Wednesday's Rick's List as he covered the eco-terrorist who brought guns, explosives, and took hostages at Discovery Channel's headquarters. Sanchez stated that Lee may have been "well-meaning," but "most watching this would argue he may have taken [his cause] way too far on this day"
James Lee's Awakening - WSJ.com
Here is a case in which, unlike in the Sharif stabbing, the ideological motive is undoubted. Yet like in the Sharif stabbing, there is no reason to doubt the perpetrator acted alone. Plainly Lee was inspired by Al Gore's rhetoric--"It's important to save the frog," the former vice president said in "An Inconvenient Truth"--but Gore cannot be blamed for Lee's crimes.

That said--and here is where we think Fish has a point--Gore's rhetoric has often been shockingly irresponsible. His film sounded alarmist notes: "That is what is at stake, our ability to live on planet Earth, to have a future as a civilization." As Reuters reported in 2008, he has called for "civil disobedience" against the putative threat of global warming. In a blog post just last month, he praised people who "have taken to the streets" against so-called climate change.

There is no reason to think that Gore intended to encourage violent lawless behavior like yesterday's kidnapping. But as Bill Clinton told the New York Times in April, "There can be real consequences when what you say animates people who do things you would never do."
Warning Signs: Two Crazy Greens
Every movement has its crazies, but not every movement is as crazy as the one that calls itself “environmental.” Almost entirely devoid of any real scientific justification, the Greens have devoted decades to literally inventing one bogus crisis after another, culminating with “global warming.”
Eco-terrorism hits Maryland: 'Inconvenient Terrorist' latest in long line | CFACT
James Lee, the gunman and hostage taker who was shot and killed by a SWAT team in the Discovery Channel Building in Silver Spring, Maryland, is the latest of a long line of eco-terrorists who have killed and maimed innocent people for over three decades.
...
According to the Maryland Gazette, James Lee was influenced by Al Gore’s movie, “An Inconvenient Truth.” While Gore’s controversial documentary does not advocate violence, the film’s catastrophic vision of earth’s future and man’s alleged role therein, will weigh heavily on the psychologically vulnerable among us. Let’s hope that Lee’s case is an isolated one and that we’re not facing a resurgence of eco-terrorism. The country has enough problems as it is.
Shock Flashback: James Cameron: 'I believe in ecoterrorism' | Climate Depot
Entertainment Weekly asks about criticism of his film:''Avatar' is the perfect eco-terrorism recruiting tool.'

James Cameron Response: 'Good, good. I like that one. I consider that a positive review. I believe in ecoterrorism.'
