The coldest temperature in the nation’s summer capital was recorded at 6.3 degrees Celsius on January 18, 1961.

PAGASA said it is possible that the same temperature will be recorded this year.

While temperature readings continued to drop, the number of people in the city who have fallen ill is rising.

Long lines of patients suffering from colds, cough, and fever have formed at the Baguio General Hospital's out-patient ward.

There are even more patients at the pediatric ward where children with similar illnesses are found.
39 ALQ schools hit with broken pipes
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - The cold weather really did a number on Albuquerque Public Schools leaving behind damaged water pipes and bills upward of a half million dollars.

School officials tell KOB-TV 39 schools have reported flooded hallways, classrooms, and offices. APS School Board member Brad Winters says repairing the damages could cost anywhere from $400,000 to $500,000.

“Currently many of the bodies being turned in are juvenile birds, which are inexperienced fishers that slowly freeze to death this time of year, unfortunately,” she said. “They are thin and show signs of frostbite damage on their pouches and on their feet.”
