Modern science has conclusively demonstrated that human activities are dangerously overheating the planet — notwithstanding Republicans’ desire to repeal that conclusion.

Republicans are the only major political party in the world that rejects this mainstream climate science.

I find the EPA's measures politically, not environmentally, motivated. They have declared to Congress that unless we pass a cap-and-trade scheme, they will proceed unilaterally to reduce carbon emissions to "acceptable" levels. In other words, unless Congress enacts regulation and taxes that the American people have determined they don't want, an unelected bureaucracy will impose rules they know will stifle our economy.

In our republic, there is no room for this sort of bureaucratic brinksmanship.
